Be realistic

You need to spend 500 hours learning a language from scratch to reach B1, or somewhere between B1 and B2. In other words, fluency. Want to achieve this in a year? No problem—just spend 1.5 hours a day learning. In 6 months, you’ll need to put in 3 hours a day. In 3 months, 6 hours a day (though I wouldn’t recommend that—it could blow your mind 💣).

Let’s say you’ve chosen a two-year path with 45 minutes of learning every day. That’s great! But you probably won’t study every day—sometimes you’ll be too busy or on vacation—so aim for 1 hour a day.

Are you ready for that?

Now, imagine waking up and spending 1 hour of your precious free time -maybe the only free time you have, almost every day for the next two years, learning a foreign language.

Here’s the hard truth: if you’re like most people, you won’t make it...

Unless you love the journey.

The key here is:

1. Make the journey as enjoyable as possible.

2. Learn to love the journey itself.

Is it really that simple?

I've spoken to many polyglots, and most of them use a similar straightforward method.
